New Orleans Saints Launch TV Campaign; Ads to Air on ESPN Network

(New Orleans, LA April 21, 2005)- The New Orleans Saints announced today that the Saints’ 2005 television advertising campaign will break locally in New Orleans on all local networks, as well as ESPN and ESPN2, for the NFL draft this weekend (April 23-24).

The 2005 Saints advertising television campaign, created in conjunction with Peter A. Mayer Advertising Inc. in New Orleans, celebrates the loyalty of Saints fans in New Orleans and the Gulf South throughout the 39-year history of the team.

“The loyalty of Saints fans over the years is one of the great stories in sports,” said Saints Executive Vice President of Administration Arnold D. Fielkow. “Our new television advertising campaign celebrates the legacy of our great fans and we are excited to kick things off during draft weekend.”

The underlying theme for the 2005 Saints advertising campaign is “You Gotta Have Faith” and will include two different television spots highlighting this message (the first to break this weekend). The first of these two spots shows bumper stickers from the team’s 39-year history and will take the team down memory lane with slogans such as “The Saints Come Marching In,” “Sockit to ´em Saints,” “Faith, Hope and Bum,” “Cha-Ching” and “Bless You Boys.” The commercial ends with a bumper sticker that reads “You Gotta Have Faith.”

“The bumper sticker spot takes a nostalgic look back at the history of the Saints using vintage bumper stickers and old slogans,” said Josh Mayer, Creative Director for Peter A. Mayer. “It pays tribute to the perseverance and continuous support of Saints fans over the last 39 years.”

The second television spot, set to come out next month, will convey the same message through a humorous scenario.
